We are proud to be part of Platfform – the charity working to change the story around mental health, transform the systems there to help, and create the conditions for people, communities, and organisations to thrive.

We have been around for just over 14 years, starting life as a small project supporting people taking their first steps back into employment after a period of absence due to mental health.

We now provide high quality cleaning and support services across South Wales and the wider UK and employ nearly 200 people. Our journey has been full of fun and learning and we’ve got exciting plans for the future.

As a charity owned enterprise we want to achieve more than your typical cleaning and support services company.

We want all of our customers to have the option to create positive impact on their workforce and wider community’s mental health – with profits from our services reinvested directly into supporting the charity’s work.

Supporting our Staff

Our staff are the most important part of who we are. Without them, we couldn’t deliver the high standards of cleaning and support services our customers expect, or create the wider value and impact we aim for.

We’re not perfect, but we are passionate about creating the right conditions for our people to thrive—reflecting the same commitment shown by our parent charity, Platfform.

That’s why all Lifft staff have access to Platfform’s counselling and support services should they experience a difficult time.

Below are some examples of how we support our staff in practice:

Dan

Dan lost his mother after a short illness and experienced a breakdown in his mental health, describing feeling alone and isolated in his grief. Dan began to experience feelings of depression and anxiety, causing him to lose his job, his home and his long–term relationship to break down.

After a period of sofa surfing, his self-esteem was extremely low and anxiety levels high. Dan was referred to one of Platfform’s support projects. Over a period of time Dan was able to create stability in his living arrangements and started to feel more positive about stepping back into work. Dan’s support worker introduced him to the team at Lifft and soon after he started his journey with us. Dan’s been with part of the team since 2017 and has grown into his role with increasing confidence; he now operates across multiple customer sites.

Lifft is a great place to work, they’ve always been supportive and helped when I’ve needed – they really care about me and how I’m doing

Sam

Sam was previously in a difficult situation in a relationship that was dominated by domestic violence. When she left the relationship, she had no money and no job.

Feelings of anxiety and depression found Sam, but during this time, Sam also found Platfform. With support, and as part of Sam’s progression, she began working with Lifft across two sites and settled in quickly. Sam continues to volunteer with Platfform and keeps in touch with the support team. Her role with Lifft provides flexibility and freedom to shape her own routine and schedule which has been an important part of her journey.

Getting a job with Lifft has been amazing, I feel totally safe and cared for by the team and it’s great to be able to keep in touch with the Platfform support team from time to time through my volunteering.

Jamie

Jamie has been at Lifft for over 14 years, working as the Security Supervisor across multiple client’s sites. Midway through 2021 Jamie approached his manager during a routine client visit to ask for some advice.

Jamie shared that since COVID his daughter had been experiencing difficulties and had begun self-harming. He and his wife were deeply distressed and unsure how to help her. Jamie said “I know we are part of Platfform, is there anyone there who could help?” His manager was immediately able to connect Jamie’s daughter to Platfform’s young people’s department, linking her with information, peer support and professional support staff. He also connected Jamie and his wife with some counselling via Platfform’s talking therapies service.

Being part of Lifft and Platfform has made all the difference, things have improved significantly for my daughter and she has now been able to fulfil her ambition to go to University. The counselling services really helped me and my wife understand things better and learn how cope and support our daughter as she finds her path back to a better life

Hi, I’m Sean and I have the privilege of leading this organisation full of talented people as we navigate our way through the highly competitive cleaning & support services environment, trying to do FM a little differently. Away from work I love the outdoors – often in the mountains walking in summer or skiing in winter.

Hi, I’m Jo an Area Manager with responsibility for our operational teams in South Wales. I’ve loved seeing Lifft grow over recent years and create support for people’s mental health. When I am not at work I sing in my local choir and enjoy baking cakes with mixed success!

Hi, I’m Charmaine, Area Manager for cleaning services in Bristol. I’ve been with Lifft for several years, overseeing operations, supporting our team, and ensuring high standards. Hi, I am Zoe, the Operations Supervisor for Bristol, helping with day-to-day management of contracts across the region. I have been with Lifft since September 2024, and love working with my clients and colleagues and being part of a business that wants to make an impact. I also love 60’s, 70’s & 80’s music.

I never thought a degree in Fashion Management could lead me to this amazing social enterprise creating impact in mental health through cleaning and support services. Hello, I’m Tony, Security Supervisor. I lead the coordination, training and support across our 24/7 security operations. I love working at Lifft and have been with the company for 10 years. We’ve got a great team, and I enjoy the challenges my role brings. Away from work, I spend lots of time with my family.

Hi, I’m Phil and I manage the finances. I’ve been involved with Lifft for about 10 years and love seeing how cleaning and support services can make a big impact on people’s mental health. When I am not using a calculator or laptop, I like to hit golf balls to relax.

Hi, I’m Mandy and I joined the company in October 2025, and I’ve loved every minute since joining such a great team. I’m a proud mother of an almost 20-year-old son and have an 11-year-old dog – but also a newlywed! I am looking forward to what lies ahead and the flexibility of this role.
